Looking to rent a property to UEA Students?

Home Run is run by the Union of UEA Students to help UEA students find safe and good housing in Norwich. We are the largest single list of housing for UEA students, and the list is provided free of charge.

Home Run is the only way to advertise to UEA students on-campus. Home Run is advertised in all the relevant campus student publications. First year students and other students living on-campus are emailed information about Home Run by the UEA, so we’re at the forefront of student minds when it comes to looking for somewhere to live in the private sector.

Via social networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter, the annual Housing Fair and Home Run list are widely publicised via the internet.

By registering your properties with Home Run, you gain access to 15,000 UEA students, of whom 11,500 do not live on campus each year.

For further information, along with how to register, please see registering with home run.

**NEWS**

As of 6th April 2010, planning permission is required if you are changing the 'Class of Use' of a property from a single household to a House of Multiple Occupation.

It is irrelevant as to whether the new HMO would be licensable or not, as it applies to any household where there are 3-6 unrelated sharers forming two or more households.

If you already rent your house as a HMO, or purchase a property that is already / was most recently rented as a HMO, permission is already establised. Examples of situations where permission would be required are:

  • property being offered for first time multiple occupancy rental was your own single household (family) home that you have moved out of
  • property was most recently rented to a single household (e.g. family) and you now want to offer it to multiple occupants
  • property is purchased that was owner occupied and you now want to offer it to multiple occupants
