Streetlight campaign- update

Earlier this semester the Union was collecting letters from students protesting against Norfolk County Council’s plans to switch off certain streetlights between 12 pm and 5 am- a move aimed at cutting carbon emissions and expenditure.

Since, we’ve received notification from the Council on streets that will not be moving to the so-called ‘part night lighting’. This includes lots of the large roads around the University- including Bluebell Road,

In May this year, the Council will be consulting with residents about switching lights off in the west Norwich area (which includes many of the roads off of Unthank Road).

At this point, it will be worth feeding in and raising any concerns you have about the proposals. The Union will be flagging this up, when the time comes.
