The VoteVOTINGThere are two days on which you may cast your votes, Thursday, 8th November and Friday 9th November, between 9am and 5.30am in the LCR. All students registered in DEV, ECO, EDU, LAW and SWK may vote in the elections by simply coming into Union House with your campus card between the times specified. If you are not here during the voting period you may apply for a proxy or postal vote. Email Cammie Fulmer (su.academic@uea.ac.uk) or Andy Pott (a.pott@uea.ac.uk). VOTING TACTICSVoting in Union Elections is done according to the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system. STV alllows you to vote preferentially, so instead of marking your prefered candidate with an “X”, you rank the candidates 1,2,3,4 in your order of preference. Marking a rival candidate “2” will not harm your first choice candidate’s chances, as the only time the second preference vote is taken into account is when your first candidate cannot win.
