Match Report: Norwich City III v UEA II

The standard of the UEA team during this match can only be described as astonishing, showing that already the team is gelling well together and increasing the standard of play. They dominated the game right from the start by going 2-0 up within the first five minutes, both goals coming from the captain Adam Knights. Other great goals came from Mike Lavine who scored two shots far from the goal post. Throughout the first half there were opportunities handed to the opposition through free passes, however none of these were scored and UEA continued to be in control. Laura Burman throughout the first half made some great interceptions in defence allowing us to continue to be in attack. At the start of the second half Fay Parsons-Hann and Jimmy Hall were subbed on, Jimmy scoring a running in shot within five minutes of being on the pitch, definitely making his mark on the match. A penalty was given against NC3, which Lizzy Jenkins scored again lengthening our lead on the opposition. Overall the game helped to show that this years Korfball second team looks extremely promising for the future, giving high hopes for this years nationals.
