Match Report: UEA II v Stingers II

After beating Stingers 2 5:3 last time, in only the second match of the season, UEA 2 were looking to build on their progress and gain another 3 points from this encounter! However things didn’t exactly go to plan. Within 10 minutes of the first half Lizzy had sustained an injury to her hand and UEA had to make an early substitution, bringing on Sarah. UEA 2 found themselves 4:1 down at half time, Adam scoring the only goal of the half. After an encouraging team talk from our two coaches and half time substitutions UEA 2 came on buzzing, with a fighting spirit. But some silly defensive errors gifted the opposition some easy goals and penalties and it just wasn’t meant to be! Second half goals from Adam, Alison and Gareth helped to get UEA 2 back on track, but the final whistle blew and they were one goal short of the vital point for getting half the score of the opposition, which they definitely deserved! A special mention goes out to Amanda who made her first second team debut of the year!
