Match Report: Norwich City IV v UEA III

UEA’s third team recorded their biggest win of the season to move ahead of a Norwich City 4 team who have now lost twice in two weeks to their younger counterparts from the university.

Although the third team started the match a man down, the defence kept the opposition at bay with relative ease. This allowed Harry Low to bag a brace in quick succession at the other end, due to some clever play in particular from Fay Parsons-Hann who fed the first of these.

The arrival of Gareth Newman only dampened Norwich City hopes, born out by the fact he scored either side of the half time whistle.

The second half continued in much the same fashion as the first, with UEA controlling the game. Harry Low completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot to take his league tally to eight for the season, while Aishah Anas showed promise for the future.

There were some ugly scenes towards the end of the match, where Ian Durrant was subjected to some verbal abuse from an elderly Norwich City player, which culminated in his defender storming off at the final whistle.

All in all, though, it was a deeply satisfying victory for the team, and it puts them in with a real chance of winning Division 3 ahead of their showdown with Norwich City U16B’s next week.
