UEA ended their two-game losing streak in dramatic fashion with a slender one goal victory in a match that was decided in the last couple of minutes.
It will be a game that a few of the side would like to forget, with one end failing to trouble the scoreboard for the entire first-half. Sloppy basic passing and catching meant UEA couldn't maintain a consistent attack and with the defence having to spend half an hour without a switch, it was inevitable that they would eventually let a pair of goals past them shortly after half-time. However, the students, fatigued from an all-day tournament the day before, which was followed-up by a more boozey that usual social, dug deep to pull the scoreline back to 2-2. There it stayed for much of the rest of the game until the game ended on a frantic final few moments. Derek broke his first-team goal drought by executing a beautiful running in shot, and with time running out, UEA thought they had done enough, only for Knights II to bounce straight back to pull the scores level. Perhaps the opposition were guilty of a lack of concentration, because immediatley from the throw off, Rich rounded off a superb hatrick to nail the winner. This time it would prove sufficient to provide the victory as a final attack from Knights II ended in an interception and the sound of the buzzer.
