CONSERVATION & WILDLIFE SOCIETY

2007-2008

The society meets at least once a week. Anyone can join and we’ve had members from many schools including Law, Lit and Music, so this isn’t just a Bio / Env club. You don’t need any previous experience of conservation work to come along and take part.

Our activities fall into roughly three categories:

Actual conservation work

Wildlife themed trips

and of course socials.

The great thing is that a lot of our trips combine all aspects in one. You can be performing conservation work in the morning, trekking for wildlife in the afternoon, while all the time you’ve been socialising, meeting new people and getting to know them while you obliterate a gorse bush. Good clean fun. Well, not so much clean, especially at Buxton after the rain. But as the soap advert says, dirt is good…
