Who are STAR?

STAR (student action for refugees) is a group committed to promoting, supporting and campaigning for the rights of refugees both in the local and international community.

Give me six reasons why I should join STAR??

*You will end up with a more positive and welcoming attitude towards other persons who are not from your walk of life.

*You have the chance to meet a variety of open-minded people.

*If you were in a asylum seeker's position you would want someone to help you.

*You will be more informed to do and say more.

*You will change the minds of others, or at least make a few less-informed people think.

*The skills and experience you gain from STAR work will be much prized and may help you in the future.

How much is the fee? When and where does STAR meet?

The admission £3 per person, when and where we meet is to be arranged!

Do I have to be political or an activist?

Star is an excellent opportunity for people to get involved in politcal debates and to air their views. However, you can get as involved as you want whether it be volunteering, fundraising, public speaking or just getting some experience. It's up to you and commitee members will not put pressure on you to do anything you don't want!
