Union Executive Committee

The Union Executive Committee, commonly known as ‘the Exec’, consists of 4 full-time and 8 part-time officers who are elected once a year, usually around February:

• Academic Officer (full-time)
• Communications Officer (full-time)
• Environment Officer (part-time)
• Ethical Issues Officer (part-time)
• Finance Officer (full-time)
• International Officer (part-time)
• Liberations Officer (part-time)
• Publicity Officer (part-time)
• Societies Officer (part-time)
• Sports Officer (part-time)
• Welfare Officer (full-time)
• Women's Officer (part-time)

The role of the Executive committee is to implement the policy decisions made by policy ballot and Union Council . Executive Committee can not make policy, but it can make decisions that contribute to the implementation of policy.

The Executive Committee is accountable to all Union members through Union Council. The minutes of the Executive Committee are circulated at Union Council meetings, and Union Council members can ask the Exec questions and approve or oppose any decisions made.

The Executive committee meets weekly during semester.
