What are Access Keys

Access Keys allow a website visitors to use keyboard keys to select parts of the page instead of using a mouse. This is important as not every visitor has a graphic environment with a mouse or other pointing device. Some users rely on keyboard, alternative keyboard or voice input to navigate links, activate form controls, etc especially people with motoric disabilities.

Using the Access Keys

Any user can use the accees keys. Simply hold down the 'Alt' key (Windows) or the ''cmd' key (Mac) and then press the appropriate access key. This will move the focus onto that object in the page. Then press the 'Enter' Key to activate it. If the page element is a link the browser will follow that link.
