Over the last couple of days, you've been voting in the policy ballot to decide the Union's stance on the plastic glasses it uses - a vote triggered by a petition signed by over 500 students at UEA.

  • We have hit the exam period. Campus is quieter, students more studious... LCRs are still happening though! We want you all to do well in your exams so be sensible with your going out and drinking but if you do fancy a night off check out the list of events on this page. Next up - the Sports LCR (with Inflatable Sumo Wrestling in the Hive) this Tuesday and Club Retro on Saturday. Tickets for the Summer Bash and Silent Disco have also just gone on sale. More importantly though - GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
  • Grad Ball tickets are of course, now on sale! It's happening on Friday 18th July. Some acts should be announced this week but for now I can announce a few things that have been booked in - some of the rides, including a lazer quest, dodgems, a simulator, twister and the booster. Amusements including amazing pictures, videoke, chocolate fountain, glitter tattoos, balloon sculptors and a special new head of security... And that's just the beginning. Tickets are £35 and £45 (with £45 giving you an extra reception in the blue bar with nibbles, bubbly, photos and extra entertainment). Ask anyone who's been to one before and they will tell you the Grad Ball is a great night!

Monday 12th May

GIG: THE METROS WATERFRONT 7PM £7adv These hotly tipped Londoners are, without a doubt, this year's ones to watch. Their sound fuses indie, pop, mod and a sprinkling of punk with witty lyrics about the likes of the Welfare State and nights out for a tenner. Their debut single Education Pt.2 was released in March this year.

GIG: ONE NIGHT ONLY WATERFRONT 7:30PM SOLD OUT! Following a recent sell out show at Norwich Arts Centre, One Night Only return to the Waterfront this time. They were formed in summer 2003, consisting initially of Mark Hayton, bassist Daniel Parkin, drummer Sam Ford and keyboardist and schoolfriend Kai Smith. However the band did not have a vocalist until Craig, a friend of Ford's younger brother joined in a practice one day. He was asked to be the vocalist, but insisted on playing guitar as well. Smith then left the band. Support comes from The Hot Melts

GIG: ROBIN TROWER WATERFRONT 7PM £15.00adv Having originally found fame in the 60s with Procul Harem, Rock guitarist Robin Trower went on to front his own "hendrix-esque" Trio. It was in this band that he found the individual identity and style that have brought him acclaim to this day.

GIG: GUILLEMOTS UEA LCR 7PM £14.00adv The multinational Guillemots are comprised of English singer and classically trained pianist Fyfe Dangerfield, Brazilian guitarist MC Lord Magrao, Scottish percussionist Greig Stewart (aka Rican Caol), and Canadian double bassist Aristazabal Hawkes. They use their eclectic influences and personal styles to create a catchy pop sound and energetic live show that has won them many fans.
