Transport

Traansport campaign banner

This s content for the new HNOVO pages on the Union of UEA Students website that is due to launch ion January 2010. It is a very exciting project and we are looking forward to see it launch and look beautiful.

Whether it’s bikes, buses or car parking your Union is on a mission to make sure you can get to your lectures on time, cheaply and as hassle free as possible.

Over the last year UEA students have been putting pressure on bus bosses to make sure our local services are up to scratch and meeting students’ needs. First have responded well and have made rapid progress tackling the problems of late buses and bad timings.

The University’s attention too has been drawn to problems faced by UEA’s local commuting students on car parking.

This year

Cycling
The Union will be looking and suggesting ways to improve the experience of student cyclists from increasing the numbers of cycle racks on campus to ensuring students’ get a fairer deal in the purchase of second hand bikes.

Buses
Te focus of this part of the campaign will be ensuring improving standards in the quality of the service are maintained and further feedback taken on board. With a recent rise in cost, we’ll be looking for further improvements to the service and guaranteeing real value for money.

Car Parking
Car parking for students has been relocated off the campus. Students commuting from long distances now face an increase to the time they travel every day and walk across playing fields to reach the main campus. Although the issues around car parking are sensitive given UEA’s commitment to environmental sustainability, it’s important a fair deal is struck to improve the experience of our local students.
