Sound Impact Awards

This year for the first time NUSSL ran the ‘Sound Impact Awards’ scheme. The scheme aims to encourage environmental best practice in student unions across the country, by assessing and comparing the environmental and ethical practices of Unions. This year the Union of UEA Students entered and was awarded a silver award.

You can see a breakdown of the audit here.

Much thanks for this is owed to Julia Orpin, the Union's Premises Manager and eco warrior. Her special interest in improving the chemicals used for cleaning has been of particular merit. Currently union policy is being developed to ensure that these and other ‘best’ practices are continued and new practices developed.
