This site is all about the women's campaign at UEA. The campaign is led by this year's Women's Officer, Alex. In a university and a society where there are more women than men, it is strange that women's rights, expectations and feelings are often ignored. This is why this campaign exists.

Baroness Ros Scott attended to give a talk on women within parliament, and her experiences in standing to become and MEP.

Socialist Feminist Network There are some alternative feminist arguments about the objectification of women, and the role of pornography on this site.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

With caroline Kemp-Harris, we were able to run a successful event in the hive... the hive was like you've never seen it before, with pink bras strewn all over the place. we gave out 2000 ribbons within a couple of hours, and frantically printed extra material to satiate the hoardes of people interested in breast cancer. thanks to all those who helped.

ABORTION RIGHTS

Women's Officer attended the abortion rights pro-choice and proud of it lobby of westminster.

Women's campaigns are wide and far-reaching, and do not always conform to the sterotypes people often think about. Women's campaigns could cover such issues as access to abortion, anti-racism, childcare, personal safety, reclaim feminism, healthcare, the welfare state, women’s rights worldwide, equal pay, rights at work, women in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, violence against women, sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, gender stereotyping, sweat-shops, free education, the war on Iraq, and so much more!
