Union By-Elections - Nominations

As many of you are aware, the Union of UEA Students will be holding its Executive Elections in Week 8. Nominations closed for all the positions last week but, rather remarkably, three posts on the Exec received no nominations.

Nominations are now, once again, open for the part-time positions of Publicity Officer, Sports Officer and Women’s Officer.

They opened last week and will close Thursday 1^st March 2pm.

Read on to find out more about the three positions available:

Publicity Officer

The Publicity Officer is responsible for helping the Communications Officer in producing publicity materials for the Union and Union events (including Elections, Referenda) and arranging output for poster boards in the hive.

They shall also assist Clubs and Societies in organising publicity.

Sports Officer

The Sports Officer shall liaise with the sports teams for the executive and also be on hand to advise the University in any aspect of operating sports clubs. They shall also help organise SportsMart, help the Finance Officer in the management of Clubs and assist in establishing new clubs.

Women’s Officer

The Women’s Officer liaises with the University on matters affecting women students.

She provides a link between women students and the Executive and with other organisations in the University or the City of Norwich

offering services to women students.

She works to improve awareness of issues affecting women students and undertake

relevant campaigns

She is the Union’s delegate to the NUS Women’s Conference.
